Makerere Student Passes On: Martin Iga dies in his third year of Software Engineering

Martin Iga, a third year software engineering student at Makerere University and a former student of St Mary’s SS Kitende succumbed to Leukemia yesterday at at Mulago Hospital. He had been battling the disease for over 3 weeks, but God let him rest. 
He will be burried at his ancestral home in Rwerere- Rukungiri tomorrow, August 23. 
His classmates have him as a jolly, polite and loving person. “He was like a brother to me. So polite, friendly and very down to earth. He always treated everyone equally and loved his books. He was bright,” Phyllis Tumusiime, one Iga’s close friends who share last moments with him at the hospital said.

Leukemia is a malignant progressive disease in which the bone marrow and other blood-forming organs produce increased numbers of immature or abnormal leukocytes. These suppress the production of normal blood cells, leading to anemia and other symptoms
