Burna Boy Claims the Throne: Surpasses Diamond Platnumz as the Most-Streamed African Artist on YouTube.



Nigerian singer and songwriter Burna Boy, known for his numerous accolades, has reached a significant milestone by surpassing Tanzania's Diamond Platnumz as the most streamed artist on YouTube in Sub-Saharan Africa.


For a considerable duration, Chibu Dangote, widely recognized as Diamond Platnumz, held the top position for YouTube views, but this reign has now been brought to an end.


At present, Burna Boy stands as the YouTube leader with an impressive count of 2,252,124,206 views and still growing, surpassing Diamond's 2,246,395,673 views and continuing to rise. Burna Boy made his debut on YouTube on January 13, 2018, while Platnumz joined the platform on June 12, 2012.


Nevertheless, Diamond Platnumz still retains the distinction of having the highest number of subscribers among artists in Sub-Saharan Africa, boasting a subscriber count exceeding 7.98 million. In comparison, Burna Boy has accumulated over 4.13 million subscribers.


Occupying the third spot in the ranking is Nigerian superstar Wizkid, whose videos have garnered a minimum of 1.76 billion views.


Fally Ipupa, the King of Lingala and Rhumba, secures the fourth position on the list with 1.50 billion views, while Nigerian sensation Davido closely follows at number 5 with 1.40 billion views.
