Reid: Republicans will lose Senate seats over SCOTUS nominee

“They're going to wind up, as a result of this, losing Senate seats they shouldn't have lost. I'm kind of glad they're doing it, but it's so foolish,” Reid said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
Reid said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is “leading his Senate over the cliff.”
“And I am telling everybody that's watching this, the senators aren't going to allow that.”
Reid pointed to Iowa, where Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R) has “had 11 different editorials around that state, plus many law professors from the universities there in Iowa that have law schools say, 'What is wrong with you, Chuck?'"
Reid also said he doesn’t think Democrats in the future should do whatever it takes to prevent a Republican president from appointing a justice in the year before an election.
“Not only do I think they shouldn't do it, they wouldn't do it,” he said. "Whoever is elected president is elected for four years."
