Adam Suleiman Kalungi, the alleged boyfriend of the late Butaleja
Woman MP, Cerinah Nebanda is feared dead considering the fact that there
is no trace of him anywhere.
Kalungi is said to have been among the three people who dropped off Nebanda’s body at Mukwaya General Hospital in Nsambya, in Kampala where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Police launched an investigation into the matter looking for him but so far, nothing has been found about his whereabouts, it seems as though he disappeared in thin air.
An arrest was made in connection to the murder of Nebanda. The arrested man, according to police spokeswoman, Judith Nabakooba, was a friend to Kalungi. She added that the arrested was present when the deceased was rushed to hospital and had provided the police with ‘important information’.
Upon searching the house of Kalungi, according to the Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Directorate boss, Grace Akullo, amongst the items found at the house of Nebanda’s boyfriend, Adam Suleiman Kalungi were milk, red wine and white wine. “He [Kalungi] tried to treat her before she was rushed to the clinic where they put her on drip,” said Akullo.
Nebanda was laid to rest yesterday, Sunday at her parent’s burial grounds in Butaleja district which was full of drama. The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga rejected the preliminary postmortem report of Nebanda which concluded that Nebanda’s body was found with traces of cocaine and heroin.
Her family has also rejected the theory, claiming Nebanda never indulged in drugs and alcohol.
