Reality TV star Bethenny Frankel and husband Jason Hoppy have split.
The 42-year-old Frankel, who also is a chef, author and entrepreneur, tells the Associated Press that the split brings her "great sadness."
"This was an extremely difficult decision that as a woman and a mother, I have to accept as the best choice for our family," Frankel said. "We have love and respect for one another and will continue to amicably co-parent our daughter who is and will always remain our first priority. This is an immensely painful and heartbreaking time for us."
Frankel became famous as a member of the cast of The Real Housewives of New York. She later spun off reality shows that focused on her life.
She and Hoppy met in 2008 and married in 2010. Their daughter, Bryn, is 2.
Frankel's new talk show, Bethenny, is scheduled to appear nationally in 2013.
