Maicon Pereira the Brazilian striker who had been playing on loan at
Ukrainian league side Mariupol, has died in a car crash. Pereira died in
an accident on Saturday morning, the local media reported
The accident happened in Donetsk, the R-Sport news agency reported. “It’s a terrible and heavy loss for all of us. He will remain a man of blessed memory for all of us,” Ukraine champions Shakhtar Donetsk said in a statement on the club’s official website.
The striker joined the club in 2012. The 25 year old moved to Ukraine to join Volyn Lutsk in 2009 and scored over 30 goals for the club. He also enjoyed loan spells with Steaua Bucharest and Zorya Luhansk either side of his switch to Shakhtar.
