Kyambogo University was established in 2003 by the "Universities and
Other Tertiary Institutions Act 2001", by merging Uganda Polytechnic
Kyambogo (UPK), the Institute of Teacher Education, Kyambogo (ITEK), and
the Uganda National Institute of Special Education (UNISE).
The university campus is located on Kyambogo Hill, approximately 10 kilometres (6.2 mi), by road, east of the central business district of Kampala, Uganda's capital and largest city, along the Kampala-Jinja Highway.
VISION
To be a Centre of Academic and Professional Excellence.
MISSION
To advance and promote knowledge and development of skills in Science, Technology and Education, and in such other fields having regards for quality, equity, progress and transformation of society.
