Joseph Owino, the man believed to have hacked into President Yoweri Museveni’s official twitter account has been arrested by police’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU).
According to a message many claim is from his wife, Daniella Boston, Owino was arrested Sunday night and transferred to Kireka, the headquarters of SIU.
Joseph Owino was arrested last night around 9pm from our home by the Special Investigations Unit and taken to Kireka,” Daniella said before adding, “Police returned to our house today and searched every inch and seized every laptop and electronic device among other things.”
On Monday morning, Sarah Kagingo, President Museveni’s Special Assistant for Communications warned that his account had been hacked. Hours later Museveni’s account posted that he’s in full control and that Kagingo was misleading the public.
