Makerere university students strike

Makerere university students have gone on strike protesting a hike in graduation fees.

The university administration recently increased the graduation fees from sh90, 000 to sh220, 000 on grounds that the operational costs have gone high.

Police have dispersed the students from different corners of the campus. By 10am they had camped at the main building demanding to meet the vice chancellor Prof. Ddumba Sentamu.

A vehicle registration number UAK 129L has had its windscreen smashed as the students threw stones at anti-riot police.
