KCCA LOGO IN LIMBO

Last week, Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, city mayors and councilors petitioned Parliament to investigate alleged mismanagement ofKampala Capital City Authority.  The petition was forwarded to the committee of public service and local government by shadow minister of local government and Mukono municipality MP Betty Nambooze.  Now the committee has pronounced itself on the petition.
Parliament asked KCCA Executive Director Jennifer Musisi to suspend the implementation of all policies that have not been approved by the KCCA Council or the political wing. One of these includes the recent rebranding of KCCA and the lunch of a new logo that will be reviewed after Parliament pronounces itself on the petition.
Meanwhile, Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago is warning members of the public against involvement with the new logo. He says in the meantime as Parliament investigates, the old logo with the Impala will subsist.
Two weeks ago, KCCA rebranded by launching a new logo and Musisi said this will also entail a change in work methods to guarantee efficiency and quality service delivery. But Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and some councilors boycotted the launch, saying they were neither consulted nor invited for the event. The opposition Democratic Party also opposed the new logo.
