The Oyam district Police Commander, Stephen Onen-can has confirmed
that there are lions which escaped from Murchison Falls National park
early this week and are roaming around in Oyam district.
Onen-can adds that the lions have already eaten a cow and are causing a lot of fear among Oyam district residents .
He told the press on Thursday that most people only move in groups due to fear of being eaten up by the lions.
Onen-can though did not tell how many lions have escaped from the park , he urged residents in Oyam to be vigilant.
He said that they will have to work together with the Wild Life Authority so that the Lions are trapped.
