The National Examinations Board has released the 2013 senior four examination results indicating a general decline in performance compared to 2012.
A total of 295,472 candidates sat last year’s Uganda Certificate of Education Exams from 2,888 centres.
UNEB Secretary Mathew Bukenya has blamed the poor performance on lack of practical teaching in most schools.
Bukenya has also noted that cases of external assistance discovered in the course of marking the exams.
He revealed that the body is to work closely with Inspector General of Police to address such cases in future.

Results over 2000 candidates were withheld, over 20,000 failed completely.
At the Luzira Examination center 34 inmates sat for the exams in 2013.
One passed in division while nine passed in division two.
